findingneema (2012-2019)/take.back.theinternet (2019-Present) is an ongoing digital performance/archive, documenting my coming of age as a nomad in the #digitaldiaspora and responding to the following question: if your great, great, great grandmother had an Instagram, what would you want to see on it?
this performance/archive is guided by octavia butler's liberatory scripture; anna everett's OG afrogeek scholarship, jose garcia muñoz's utopic dreams, rafia santana & elizabeth mputu's black digital world/self-making, Mandy Harris Williams' critical caption essayism, and last, but not least, the Instagram Explore page.
this space is a multidimensional journey—a re-shipping across the Indian and the Atlantic. it is where the seas meet land and the land meets itself, digitally. it is a space of timelessness and urgency. it is as true as it knows itself to be Present. It is in the making.
